Berry Creek is a rural community located in the foothills east of Oroville. A unique, tight-knit, and private community of about 2,000 people, it is well known for it's natural beauty. Residents enjoy the peace, quiet, and privacy of a mountain community tucked into the forest. Life without a single traffic light makes you forget about your worries and the hustle and bustle that city life brings.

The north complex fireThe Damage
On September 8th around 3pm residents were given an immediate evacuation order. No warnings like every other time the community had to evacuate. The power was shut off and many residents were unaware of the severity of the fire which had been burning since August 17th. By midnight approximately 79% of the town was leveled. Sadly, 16 people perished in Berry Creek and surrounding areas. The aftermath left an entire town displaced and many had no insurance.

IT'S UP TO US toRebuild
Berry Creek United was established in September of 2020 by 4 locals to help our fellow creekers out. We are constantly striving to grow and gain more donors. Our priorities not only include the residents but also their pets, the wildlife, and the environment. We hope to eventually help build homes and a community center and restore our town as much as possible.
